Inside Rocky Mountain National Park, there is virtually no commercial activity. Fortunately, Grand Lake, which is located on the western side of the park, is so close that it's known as the "Western Gateway."

Lodging
If you'd like to stay overnight, and be as close to Rocky Mountain National Park as possible, Grand Lake offers a variety of lodging choices. There are lodges, cabins, inns, bed and breakfasts, motels, and private homes in and around Grand Lake. Ranging from rustic to luxury, there's something for everyone.

Dining
There are no restaurants inside Rocky Mountain National Park, but Grand Lake has dozens of dining choices, many of which are located on the historic boardwalk. From ice cream shops to fine dining, Mexican restaurants to pizza parlors, there's a variety of restaurants open year-round.

Activities
Guided horseback riding and snowshoe tours are available in Rocky Mountain National Park. Please note that snowmobiles and ATVs are not permitted in the park, but can be ridden legally in and around Grand Lake.
