 - February 3rd - Winter Carnival opening night party at Grumpy’s with appetizers, music, drink specials, and last minute signup sheets for events.  Winner of the MERCHANT light display will be announced!  6:00-10:00pm

 - February 4th - Grand Lake's Winter Carnival.
Come join the fun in town with human bowling, bed sled races and more!  

 Grand Lake Winter Carnival February 4, Saturday:

THE “OZ” SNOWMAN CONTEST - for kids  / Judge at 2  / All kid entrants get an ice cream cone for effort / Ribbons / free entry    10:00 - 2:00

“WIZARD of OZ” PARADE  12:30pm  Bed Sled Racers, TeaPot Curlers, King/Queen candidates riding in sleigh, etc., all are welcome to participate in parade.  Just line up at Grand Lake Lanes.

HUMAN BOWLING    Adult & Kid divisions – 2 lanes/1 rider in saucer, 2 “bowlers aim the sled at 10 empty water jugs/ $10 entry (kid’s free)/ cash prizes to adults.  Just show up.   2:00pm         

Judging of the SNOW SCULPTURES Winners announced at the dance / the theme of the sculptures is “THE EMERALD CITY”  3:00pm

Free popcorn and movie “The Wizard of Oz” at the Community House    3:00pm

The “OZ” Fireworks on the Lake  This will signify the end of Winter Carnival and the start of Adult Time  (time for the kids to go to bed) 8:00pm

The "OZ” BALL at Pancho and Lefty’s / Band – “ACME” / King and Queen Finals / $100 prize for best costume / announcement of winners of all events of day / appetizers served at 10pm /drink specials/ $10 in advance - $15 at the door. 8:00pm to midnight

 - February 4th - Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club Steak Ride @ 11:00 a.m.  Ride in to a mountain meadow for a steak dinner in the snow.  Club provides steaks; members bring potluck sides and desserts.  For more information call Bill @970-627-8315.

 - February 4th - Open House at the Kauffman House Museum.  Pitkin Street at the beach in Grand Lake. 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Free admission, tasty treats. Wonderful scrapbooks and albums on special display.

- March 2nd, 3rd, and 4th - Grand Lake Icefishing Tournament! On Friday 2nd join the welcoming party located at Pancho & Lefty's at the end of the boardwalk, the The Grumpy's Calendar Girls will be there to let everyone know that they will be on the Lake on Saturday to take photos with the fishermen. Tounament begins on Saturday 3rd with prime rib dinner at the Sagebrush for all contestants @ 6:00 pm that evening. Tournament wraps up Sunday 4th followed by the Awards Ceremony which also takes place at Pancho & Lefty's. Entry fee is $35 for both days.  click for general info   click for registration and rules
